Matthew Hartsook

Matthew Hartsook serves as Chief Financial Officer at Horizon Behavioral Health. He earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Lynchburg and a Master of Science in Accounting from Liberty University. Matthew began his career in 1996 at Genworth, progressing through a series of finance roles with increasing responsibility and ultimately serving as Finance Director for the company’s Term Life Insurance division.

In 2009, he became Manager of AREVA’s Business Services unit, overseeing travel and expense operations across North America, including corporate travel cards, leased vehicle programs, and charter jet services. In this role, he led the successful implementation of a new travel and expense reimbursement system. During his tenure at AREVA, he also worked as a Finance Analyst in the Corporate division, managing budgets exceeding $100 million annually.

Matthew joined Horizon Behavioral Health in 2017 as a Senior Finance Analyst, where he was responsible for the organization’s annual budget and financial analytics. He later served as Horizon’s Controller, overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, billing, and reimbursement, as well as serving as the primary liaison for the annual financial audit.
